THE GRAND PRIX OF THE PEÑAS


On 24th August at 18:00 there was a Grand Prix of the Peñas. Four peñas participated: Peña La Flamenca, Peña El Deshaucio, Peña La Trena and Peña La Herradura.
In each peña there were five contestants.

The Grand Prix is a contest with young bulls and different games.
The four peñas won a "jamón".
After the contest, there were young bulls for over 18 year old.

El 24 de agosto a las 18:00 fue el Grand Prix de las peñas. Participaron cuatro peñas: Peña La Flamenca, Peña el Deshaucio, Peña La Trena y Peña La Herradura. En cada peña había 5 concursantes.
El Grand Prix es un concurso con vaquillas y distintos juegos.
Las cuatro peñas ganaron un jamón. Después del concurso hubo vaquillas para mayores de 18 años.

GOODBYE TO THE FIESTAS


Now the fiestas finish and the summer finishes too.
On 10th September we are going to go to school again.
But it is OK because we are going to see our friends and we are going to have new books and we are going to have new teachers too.

This year everybody says we are going to have the A flu and that school will begin later. We don't know what will happen but we think that this year will be a bit different.



ADIOS A LAS FIESTAS
Ahora, las fiestas se terminan y el verano se termina también. El 10 de septiembre vamos a ir al colegio otra vez. Pero esta bién porque vamos a ver a nuestros amigos y vamos a tener libros nuevos y vamos a tener maestros nuevos también.
Este año todo el mundo dice que vamos a tener la Gripe A y que el colegio empezará más tarde. No sabemos que ocurrirá pero pensamos que este año será un poco diferente.

THE PARADE

On Friday 21st August there was a very funny parade.
I pareded with the peña El Yugo. The Peña La Cuerda carried the Virgin. The Peña El Bodegón and The Peña La Cuerda threw streamers.
The street band was very funny and we danced a lot.
We went to the Ojo de la Virgen to sing La Salve.
Then we paraded in front of the Town Hall.

EL DESFILE
El viernes 21 de agosto hubo un desfile muy divertido. Yo desfilé con la peña El Yugo. La peña La Cuerda llevaba la Virgen. La Peña El Bodegón y la Peña La Cuerda lanzaron serpentinas. La charanga era muy divertida y bailamos mucho. Fuimos al Ojo de la Virgen para cantar la Salve. Luego, desfilamos delante del ayuntamiento.



THE STREET DANCE ON SUNDAY

I liked the street dance on Sunday. They dressed up as nurses, school girls and girls.
They sang very well and the stage was really beautiful. In the street there were a lot of people dancing.


LA VERBENA DEL DOMINGO
Me gustó la verbena del domingo. Se vestían como enfermerar, colegialas y chicas.
Cantaban muy bien y el escenario era muy bonito. En la calle había mucha gente bailando.


VISITING PEÑAS WITH MY PARENTS AND FRIENDS

On Sunday 24th August I went to visit some peñas with my parents and some friends.
First, we visited Peña El Oasis, they gave me some coke and snacks. Then, we went to La Guadaña and they gave me Fanta and crisps. Then we went to Peña El Pozo and they gave me coke and marmitaco. It was very good.
Then we returned to our peña La Cuerda but we didn't eat because we were full.

El domingo 24 de agosto fui a visitar peñas con mis padres y algunos amigos. Primero, visitamos la Peña El Oasis. Nos dieron algo de coca-cola y snacks. Luego fuimos a la Guadaña y me dieron Fanta y patatas fritas. Luego fuimos a la Peña El Pozo y me dieron coca-cola y marmitaco. Estaba muy bueno. Luego volvimos a nuestra peña La Cuerda pero no comimos porque estabamos llenos.

CUBATADA IN PEÑA EL TRILLO


Every night during the fiestas there is a cubatada in the Peña El Trillo at 01:00.

On Saturday 22nd August, we went to the Peña El Trillo to the cubatada and I saw that there were a lot of people in the Karaoke.

We sang the Macarena in the Karaoke. I though we sang well but the song was more difficult and they just gave us 6 plastic glasses. We weren't sad but we weren't happy.

We had a really good time in my peña.


CUBATADA EN LA PEÑA EL TRILLO
Todas las noches durante las fiestas hay una cubatada en la Peña El Trillo a la 01:00.
El sábado 22 de agosto fuimos a la Peña El Trillo a la cubatada y vi que había mucha gente en el karaoke. Nosotros cantamos la Macarena. Pensé que cantamos bien pero la canción era más dificil y nos dieron 6 vasos de plástico. No estabamos tristes pero tampoco estabamos contentos. Nos lo pasamos realmente bien en mi peña.

RECETAS DE VERANO por Isabel Bujidos

ESQUEIXADA

Ingredients for four people:
- 300g thick salty cod
-4 small onions
-2 big tomatoes
-1 1/2dl oil
-1/2 dl vinegar
-150 gr black and green olives
-2 green peppers
-2 hard boiled eggs
-black pepper

1. Cut the cod. Put the cod in water for 30 hours. Change the water twice then dry with a cloth.

2. Peel the tomatoes.

3. In a big plate put the cod and add a bit of salt.

4. Cut the small onions, the tomatoes and the peppers in pieces. Put on the plate. Add the olives.

5. Mix the oil, the vinegar, salt and pepper with a mixer. Put this sauce on the place

6. Cut the hard boiled eggs. Add to the plate.

7. Serve cold.




Esqueixada.
Ingredientes para cuatro personas:
300 gr de bacalao grueso salado, 4 cebollas pequeñas, 2 tomates grandes, 1 1/2dl de aceite, 1/2dl de vinagre, 150 gr de aceitunas negras y verdes, 2 pimientos verdes, 2 huevos cocidos y pimienta negra.
1. Corta el bacalao. Pon el bacalao en agua durante 30 horas. Cambia el agua dos veces y luego seca con un trapo.
2. Pela los tomates.
3. En un plato grande pon el bacalao y añade un poco de sal.
4. Corta las cebollas pequeñas, los tomates y los pimientos en trocitos. Pon en el plato. Añade las aceitunas.
5. Mezcla el aceite, el vinagre, la sal y la pimienta con una batidora. Pon esta salsa en el plato.
6. Corta los huevos cocidos. Añadelos al plato.
7. Servir frio.

JUEGOS EN LA PLAZA by Marta Paredes

On MODAY of FIESTAS there are a lot of games in Plaza España. There are sack races, rope-pulling, donkey races,...

This year I participated in the rope-pulling with my friends. The name of my group was YO-QUE-SÉ. We competed against the Peña El Ancla and we lost...but we had a good time.

There were other games such as the greasy pole and the bicycle races. In the greasy pole, Mikel from the Peña El Yugo won and they gave him a "jamón".

El lunes de fiestas hay muchos juegos en la Plaza de España. Hay carreras de saco, soga-tira, carreras de burros ...
Este año yo participé en el soga-tira con mis amigos. El nombre del grupo era YO-QUE-SÉ. Competiamos contra la Peña El Ancla y perdimos ....pero nos lo pasamos muy bien.
Hay otros juegos como la cucaña y las carreras de bicicletas. En la cucaña, Mikel de la Peña El Yugo ganó y le dieron un jamón.

PEÑAS PARADE in Dueñas.

On Friday 21st August the fiestas begin in Dueñas.

At 19:30 the parade of the peñas will begin from Virgen de Onecha neighbourhood.

The Peñas will walk through the village till the church and then till the small church placed on the Ojo de la Virgen, that was an old door to the walls that surrounded Dueñas.

There will be 41 peñas in the parade, what means that half of the village parades and the other half goes to see them.

This year the peña La Cuerda will carry the Virgen till the Ojo de la Virgen where everybody will sing the Salve. Later, the peñas will parade in front of the Town Hall.

For the inhabitants of Dueñas the parade is the most important event of the fiestas and everybody wants to be here that day.

El viernes 21 de agosto empiezan las fiestas en Dueñas.
A las 19:30 empezará el desfile de las peñas desde el Barrio Virgen de Onecha. Las peñas caminarán por el pueblo hasta la iglesia y luego hasta la pequeña iglesia situada en el Ojo de la Virgen que era una antigua puerta de las murallas que rodeaban a Dueñas.
Habrá 41 peñas en el desfile lo que significa que la mitad del pueblo desfila y la otra mitad va a verlo.
Esta año la peña La Cuerda llevará la Virgen hasta el Ojo de la Virgen donde todo el mundo cantará La Salve. Después, las peñas desfilarán delante del ayuntamiento. Para los habitantes de Dueñas, el desfile es el acontecimiento más importante de las fiestas y todo el mundo quiere estar allí.

DAY OF THE BOTIJERO AUSENTE


On Wednesday 19th August, it was the day of the "Botijero Ausente" in Dueñas. This is a special day when we remember those people from Dueñas that don't live in the village now.





This day was celebrated with a torreznada and a concert with a traditional band.
The Torreznada began at 20:00 in Virgen de Onecha neighbourhood. Some members of the Peña La Flamenca, Peña La Botijada and Peña el Molino cooked the bacon in the football pitch and others gave it to the people. Also, they gave a glass of wine.




There were a lot of people and the queue was very long.
The temperature was very nice and all the village was in the square chatting while they tasted the bacon sandwiches.




El miércoles 19 de agosto fue el Día del Botijero Ausente en Dueñas.
Este es un día especial cuando recordamos a aquellos de Dueñas que no viven en el pueblo ahora. Este día se celebró con una torreznada y un concierto de música tradicional.
La torreznada empezó a las 20:00 en el Barrio Virgen de Onecha. Algunos componentes de la Peña La Flamenca, Peña La Botijada y Peña El Molino cocinaron los torreznos en el campo de futbol y otros lo daban a la gente. También daban un vaso de vino.
Había mucha gente y la cola era muy larga. La temperatura era muy agradable y todo el pueblo estaba en la plaza charlando mientras saboreaban los bocadillos de torreznos.

MY FIESTAS


FRIDAY is one of my favourite days. First, all the peñas parade through the village and then, we parade in front of the Town Hall. There is bull-running at night and my peña makes a special dinner near the bulls. I love bull-running!!!

When there is bull-running we cook a lunch next to the bulls.
At night my friends and I dance in the Plaza de España and we go to bed very late.
This year I will be with two peñas: Peña La Cuerda y Peña el Bodegón. I have two t-shirts and my fiestas will be different too.

MIS FIESTAS
El viernes es uno de mis días favoritos. Primero, todas las peñas desfilan por el pueblo y luego desfilamos delante del ayuntamiento. Hay encierros por la noche y m i peña prepara una comida especial cerca de los toros. A mi me encantan los encierros.
Cuando hay encierros hacemos un almuerzo al lado de los toros.
Por la noche mis amigos y yo bailamos en la Plaza de España y nos vamos a la cama muy tarde.
Este año yo estaré en dos peñas. Peña La Cuerda y Peña el Bodegón. Tengo dos camisetas y mis fiestas también serán diferentes.

CONCIERTO DE "VALLARNA" en Dueñas by Nuria Gaisán

VALLARNA CONCERT in Dueñas

On 19th August, the band Vallarna gave a concert in the neighbourhood Virgen de Onecha in Dueñas.

The concert began at 22:30 and it finished at 24:00

Vallarna is a band that plays traditional music. There are four boys in the band.





It was hot. There were people in the Square and some neighbours took chairs from their houses to sit comfortably and to listen to the band.

Everybody enjoyed the concert and clapped a lot, so the band played more songs at the end of the concert.

After the concert, you could buy their last CD.





El 19 de agosto el grupo Vallarna dió un concierto en el Barrio Virgen de Onecha de Dueñas.
El concierto empezó a las 22:30 y terminó a las 24:00.
Vallarna es un grupo que toca música tradicional. Hay cuatro chicos en el grupo.
Hacía bueno y había gente en la plaza y algunos de los vecinos cogieron sillas de sus casas para sentarse cómodamente y escuchar al grupo.
A todo el mundo le gustó el concierto y aplaudieron mucho, así que el grupo tocó más canciones al final del concierto.
Después del concierto podíamos comprar su último CD.

BAILE DE GALA by Lucia Escudero

Tonight (20th August) will be
THE BALL in Dueñas.
The event will happen in the España Square and it will begin at 24:00.

This dance is the door to the fiestas in Dueñas because we celebrate it the day before the start of the fiestas. Till a few years ago, we celebrated the ball in the Patiro de Arcos and we paid a ticket. Then, we had to wear smart clothes. But now the dance is in España Square and there won't be tickets. Also, we will be able to wear what we want.
A lot of people will go with smart clothes and so the dance will continue being special.

During the dance and near the end, we will choose the Botijera and the Ladies 2009: Alexia de León from the Peña el Desmadre, Alba García from Peña El Pozo and Sara Caballero from Peña El Yugo. The young Lady is Andrea Torres from Peña La Tribu.

We will dance with the Dance Band TUCAM BRASS till very late.

Esta noche (20 agosto) es el BAile de Gala en Dueñas.
El evento tendrá lugar en la Plaza de España y comenzará a las 24:00. Este baile es la puerta a las fiestas de Dueñas porque lo celebramos un día antes de su comienzo. Hasta hace unos pocos años el baile se celebraba en el Patio de Arcos y pagabamos una entrada. Entonces, teniamos que llevar ropa elegante. Pero ahora el baile es el la Plaza de España y no hay entradas. También podremos ponernos lo que queramos. Mucha gente irá con ropa elegante y así el baile continuará siendo especial.
Durante el baile y cerca del final, podremos elegir la Botijera y las Damas 2009: Alexia de León de la Peña El Desmadre, Alba García de la Peña el Pozo, y Sara Caballero de la Peña El Yugo. La Dama infantil es Andrea Torres de la Peña La Tribu.
Bailaremos con el grupo TUCAM BRASS hasta muy tarde.

MARTA DOMINGUEZ CAMPEONA DEL MUNDO by Belén Paredes

MARTA DOMINGUEZ 3,000 HURDLES WORLD CHAMPION in BERLIN.


On 18th August we could see from our television Marta Dominguez when she came the first to the finishing line and won the gold medal in 3,000 hurdles in Berlín.

Marta did a fantastic race and was all the time with the first group ... till the home straight when Marta left the group to arrive at the finishing line alone and enjoy her success.

This is the first gold medal for the Spanish athetism in 10 years. The last gold medals for Spain was in Seville 2009 for Abel Anton in the marathon and Niurka Montalvo in the long jump.

Marta improved her own time and got to the finishing line in 9.07.32.

CONGRATULATIONS MARTA!!! We are very happy and we are sure that you are very happy too!!!



MARTA DOMINGUEZ CAMPEONA DEL MUNDO EN 3.000 VALLAS EN BERLIN.
El 18 de agosto todos pudimos ver desde nuestros televisores a Marta Dominguez cuando llegaba la primera a la meta y ganaba la medalla de oro en 3.000m vallas. Marta hizo una carrera fantástica y estuvo todo el tiempo con el grupo primero ... hasta la última recta cuando Marta dejó al grupo para llegar a la meta sola y disfrutar de su triunfo.
Esta es la primera medalla de oro para el atletismo español en 10 años. Las últimas medallas de oro para España fueron en Sevilla 2009 para Abel Antón en la maratón y Niurka Montalbo en el salto de longitud.
Marta consiguió mejorar su propio tiempo y llegó a meta en 9.07.32.
¡¡¡Enhorabuena Marta!!! ¡Estamos muy contentos y estamos seguros que tú estas contenta también!

FIESTAS DE PALENCIA by Marta Paredes

FIESTAS IN PALENCIA


This year there is a big musical offer in the Fiestas in Palencia so we can enjoy live music in the Plaza Mayor and in the Huertas del Obispo where we can watch some famous bands and singers: Jarabe de Palo, Amaia Montero, Macaco, Pitingo, Miguel Rios and a lot of others.

Also, there is theatre for children and for adults. Some actors are famous such as Maria Luisa Merlo, Belinda Washington, Carlos Lozano and Arturo Fernández. Also, Berto will tell us a monologue.

On 31st August and 1st September there is zarzuela that joins theatre and music.
The prices go from 15€ to 30€ each ticket.




FIESTAS EN PALENCIA
Este año hay una gran oferta musical en las fiestas de Palencia así que podemos disfrutar de música en directo and la Plaza Mayor y en las Huertas del Obispo donde podemos ver algunos grupos y cantantes famosos: Jarabe de Palo, Amaia Montero, Macaco, Pitingo, Miguel Rios y muchos otros.
También hay teatro para niños y para adultos. Algunos actores son famosos como María Luisa Merlo, Belinda Washington, Carlos Lozano y Arturo Fernández. También Berto nos contará un monólogo. El 31 de agosto y el 1 de septiembre hay zarzuela que une el teatro con la música. Los precios van de 15€ a 30€.

"LUNA NUEVA" SE ESTRENARÁ EN ESPAÑA by Alicia Masa

THE FILM "NEW MOON" will be launched in Spain for the first time on 18th November, two days before its launch in the United States.

Aurum Productions decided the launch in Spain and in France because there are a lot of followers in these two countries.

In the film we can watch the second part of the passionate and dangerous love between Bella Swam and the vamp Edward Cullen.

The film is based in the book "Twilight" written by Stephanie Meyer and published in 2005. There are four books "Twilight", "New Moon", "Eclipse" and "Dawn". The books are translated to 37 languages and the people bought 25 million of books.




LA PELÍCULA "LUNA NUEVA" será estranada en España por primera vez el 18 de noviembre, dow días antes de su lanzamiento en los Estados Unidos.
Aurum Productions decidió el lanzamiento en España y en Francia porque hay muchos seguidores en estos dos paises.
En la película podemos ver la segunda parte del apasionado y peligroso amor entre Bella Swam y el vampiro Edward Cullen.
La película esta basada en el libro "Crepúsculo" escrito por Stephanie Meyer y publicado en 2005. Hay cuatro libros "crepúsculo", "Luna Nueva", "Eclipse" y "Amanecer". Los libros están traducidos a 37 idiomas y se han vendido 25 millones de ejemplares.

DÍA DEL NIÑO en Dueñas by Lucia Escudero

CHILDREN'S DAY

On 17th August in the Barrio Virgen de Onecha, there was a big party for the children.

It was very hot and there were three trampolines, a go-kart that the children drove on a race track, and four WIIS too. Later, there was a big foam party. It was fantastic!!!

There were a lot of people. The ride children liked most was the go-kart and a lot of children wanted to drive it.

EL DÍA DEL NIÑO
El 17 de agosto en el Barrio Virgen de Onecha hubo una gran fiesta para los niños.
Hacía mucho calor y había tres camas elásticas, un kart que los niños conducían por una pista y cuatro WIIS también. Después hubo una fiesta de espuma.
Había mucha gente. La atracción que más gustó fue el kart y muchos niños querían conducirlo.

CRAZY CARS


There was a crazy-cars race last Sunday 16th August at 7:00 in Dueñas .

There were thirteen cars and a lot of people went to see them.

It was very exciting! There were two accidents but nobody was hurt.

We liked a tractor and two pirate boats but there was a UFO, a bird and others.


LOS AUTOS LOCOS
Hubo una carrera de autos locos el pasado domingo 16 de agosto a las 7:00 en Dueñas.
Había 13 coches y mucha gente fue a verlo.
¡Fue muy emocionante! Hubo dos accidentes pero nadie resultó herido.
Nos gustó un tractor y dos barcos piratas pero también había un OVNI, un pájaro y otros.

FERIA MEDIEVAL MUDEJA EN CUELLAR by Belén Paredes

MEDIEVAL-MUDEJAR MARKET
IN CUELLAR


Zereia Theatre Group will act in Cuellar during the weekend 21st-23rd August. During three days, there will be a Medieval-Mudejar Market in the village of Cuellar and Zereia Theatre Group will be in charge of the entertainment and fun.

In the market we will be able to see goods made of wood, leather and pottery. We will be able to buy jewels, sun clocks, old costumes, soap, items for the kitchen, candles and perfum. Then, there will be a stall to read the Tarot.

Seventy-nine crafstmen will show their goods in their stalls in Cuellar streets.

Zereia Theatre Group is a local group that will be an innovation because it is the first time that a theatre group participates in the fiesta. Zereia will offer show such as slaves sale, monster hunting, leprouses, witch meetings, etc.

Also, children will enjoy workshops that show pottery, donkey shearing, tattoos and other games.

In the "Children's Village" there will be special games for the youngest.

The offer will include a concert of traditional music with the group Cantiga.

This market opens on Friday 21st August at 19:00, when the craftsmen and salesmen open their stalls to the public and the King and Queen and their entourage go from the castle to the park.

FUEGO Y TAMBORES EN DUEÑAS by Marta Paredes

FIRE AND DRUMS in Dueñas.

In Dueñas, the Banda Deplacee with its six members took hundreds of people through the streets of the village. On Sunday 16th August, the Banda Deplacee with its drums and fire show walked through the village frightening and entretaining eveybody.




This is the second year that they visit us. After watching them last year, the streets of Dueñas were full of people that didn't want to miss it. The show started in the Matadero and later continued towards the church and next towards the Square. There, everybody could watch a wonderful performance with the music of their drums and the fireworks that were thrown from a device in the back of the members. Everybody clapped happily at the end of the show, so we hope to see them next year again.




FUEGO Y TAMBORES EN DUEÑAS.
En Dueñas, la Banda Deplacee y sus seis componentes llevaron a cientos de personas por las calles del pueblo.
El domingo 16 de agosto, la Banda Deplacee con sus tambores y su espectáculo de fuego recorrieron el pueblo asustando y entreteniendo a todo el mundo.
Este es el segundo año que nos visitan. Después de verles el añó pasado, las calles de Dueñas estaban llenas de gente que no querían perderselo.
El show empezó en el Matadero y luego continuó hacia la iglesia y después hacia la plaza. Aquí todos el mundo pudo ver una maravillosa actuación con la música de sus tambores y el fuego que salía de unas lanzaderas en la espalda de los componentes del grupo.
Todos aplaudimos felices al final del show así que esperamos verles de nuevo el año próximo.

PEÑA EL YUGO


The peña EL YUGO is 30 years old. We wear a black waistcoat, a green shirt and a black sweatshirt.

There are 30 members and we have lunch and dinner together in the peña.
In the peña, there are young people and we are all friends.

Last year we carried the Virgin.
The peña is in a cave under the Peña La Guadaña.


PEÑA EL YUGO.
La peña El Yugo tiene 30 años. Llevamos un chaleco negro, una camisa verde y una sudadera negra.
Hay 30 componentes y almorzamos y comemos juntos en la peña.
En la peña hay gente joven y todos somos amigos.
El año pasado llevamos la Virgen.
La peña está en una cueva bajo la Guadaña.

RUTAS PARA EL VERANO: EL ROBLE DE LAS VALLEJAS by Marta Paredes

THE VALLEJAS OAK


This oak is about 500 years old. It has a big and strange trunk with two branches. If you want to visit it, you must go to the Pantano de Ruesga near Cervera de Pisuerga.

We walk 1km. from the area of the campsite and we are in the car park E. We walk along the path on the right towards the west and we enter the forest. After 700 metres we walk along a path on the left. We walk 400 metres and we turn right. The oak is there.

This oak is famous in Ruesga.
At Christmas there is a "Nacimiento" in the oak. There was another bigger oak but they cut it. Next, they cut it again in four parts but the parts were too big for the carts.



EL ROBLE DE LAS VALLEJAS
Este roble tiene alrededor de 500 años. Tiene un tronco grande y fuerte con dos ramas.
Si quieres visitarlo, debes ir al Pantano de Ruesga cerca de Cervera de Pisuerga. Caminamos 1km desde el area de camping y estamos en el aparcamiento E. Caminamos por el camino en la derecha hacia el oeste y entramos en el bosque. Después de 700 metros caminamos por un camino a la izquierda. Caminamos 400 metros y giramos a la derecha. El roble esta allí.
Este roble es famoso en Ruesga. En Navidades hay un "Nacimiento" en el roble. Había otro roble más grande pero lo cortaron. Luego lo cortaron otra vez en cuatro partes pero las partes eran muy grandes para los carros.

UN CUENTO: LA HISTORIA DE VIRGINIA by Isabel Bujidos

VIRGINIA'S STORY


In a small village lived a short girl. Her name was Virginia and she was 12. She was poor and some boys stole the little money that her parents gave her for lunch.
One day Virginia didn't bring money and the boys hurt her. Virginia told her parents and they took her out of the school

Virginia was scared of the other school. The teachers had wicked smiles and the children too. She couldn't make friends because she was scared. Till one day a girl came and Virginia became more scared and the other girl asked her:
- What's your name? My name is Alicia.
- My name is Virginia
- Do you want friends?, asked Alicia.
- Yes, why not?

Alicia explained to her that she didn't have to be scared when the teachers smiled.
Virginia and Alicia were friends for ever.

En un pequeño pueblo vivía una niña baja. Su nombre era Virginia y tenía 12 años. Era pobre y algunos chicos robaban el poco dinero que sus padres la daban para almorzar.
Un día Virginia no llevó dinero y los chicos la hicieron daño. Virginia se lo dijo a sus padres y ellos la sacaron del colegio.
Virginia estaba asustada del otro colegio. Los profesores tenían sonrisas malvadas y los niños también. Ella no pocía hacer amigos porque estaba asustada. Hasta que un día una niña vino y Virginia se asustó más y la otra niña la preguntó:
- ¿Cómo te llamas? Mi nombre es Alicia.
- Mi nombre es Virginia.
- ¿Quieres amigos?, preguntó Alicia
- Yes, ¿por qué no?
Alicia la explicó que no tenía que estar asustada cuando los profesores sonreían.
Virginia y Alicia fueron amigas para siempre.

The meteor shower is called San Lorenzo's tears because they happen on San Lorenzo's night.

This meteor shower is actually falling dust.
We find the first references to meteor showers 2,000 years ago.

La lluvia de estrellas se llama lágrimas de San Lorenzo porque ocurren la noche de San Lorenzo.
Esta lluvia de estrellas es en realidad polvo que cae.
Encontramos las primeras referencias a la lluvia de estrellas hace 2.000 años.

UN CUENTO: DANIEL, THE DETECTIVE

DANIEL, THE DETECTIVE


Daniel is a detective that, with his mates Javier and Carlos, solves different cases with the police.

In this case, Daniel and his mates are in front of a robbery to Rubén de la Fuente. Daniel and Carlos are going to interview Rubén:
- "Somebody robbed me some jewels, a necklace and a ring."
- "When was it?", Danield asks.
- "Tonight. Somebody broke the door with a hammer and entered my house", answered Rubén.
- "How do you know that it was a hammer?", Carlos asks.
Rubén becomes nervous.
- "Because ... I ... I heard the crash."

When the interview finishes there is a suspect. Rubén said that his neighbour hates him. His name is Rodolfo. Javier speaks with Rodolfo. He says that his door was broken and that Javier can see his house. Then Javier sees Rubén's robbed objects and he takes Rodolfo to the police station.

The neighbourhood hates Rubén and he will be the President of the neighbourhood because Rodolfo will be in prison.
Rodolfo doesn't have a big hammer and there are only Ruben's fingerprints in the objects.
Ruben's door was broken from the inside.
Conclusion: Rubén broke his door and broke Rodolfo's door. Rubén took the objects to Rodolfo's house and then Rubén accused him.

Daniel and his mates showed that Rubén wanted to be the President of the neighbourhood and they take him to the police station.


Daniel es un detective que, con la ayuda de sus compañeros Javier y Carlos, resuelve diferentes casos con la policia.
En este caso, Daniel y sus compañeros están delante de un robo a Rubén de la Fuente.
Daniel y Carlos van a entrevistar a Rubén:
- Alguien me robó unas joyas, un collar y un anillo.
- ¿Cuándo fue? - Daniel pregunta.
- Esta noche. Alguien rompió la puerta con un martillo y entró en mi casa - respondió Rubén.
- ¿Cómo sabes que fue con un martillo? - preguntó Carlos.
Rubén se pone nervioso.
- Porque yo ... yo .... yo oí un golpe.
Cuando la entrevista termina hay un sospechoso. Rubén dijo que su vecino le odia. Su nombre es Rodolfo. Javier habla con Rodolfo. Él dice que se rompio su puerta y que Javier podía ver su casa. Luego Javier ve los objetos robados de Rubén y lleva a Rodolfo a la comisaría.
El vecindario odia a Rubén y él será el presidente del vecindario porque Rodolfo estará en la carcel.
Rodolfo no tiene un martillo y solo hay huellas de Rubén en los objetos.
La puerta de Rubén esta rota desde dentro.
Conclusión: Rubén rompió su puerta y rompio la puerta de Rodolfo. Rubén llevó los objetos a casa de Rodolfo y luego Rubén le acusó.
Daniel y sus compañeros mostrarón que Rubén quería ser el presidente del vecindario y le llevaron a la comisaría.

UNA PELÍCULA PARA EL VERANO by Alicia Masa

UP is the new film of Pixar (Disney) and we can see it in 3D in the cinemas in Palencia and Valladolid.

This is the plot: Carl Fredricksen is 78 years old and he is a balloon salesman. His wife dies and he is going to lose his house so he has an idea. He ties a lot of balloons to his house to fly and travel to South America. But, he discoveres that Rusell, a boy of 8 years old, is travelling with him too. At the beginning he is very angry but after....

The reviews are very good. The film is very happy with a mix of humour and feelings, and has a good rhythm. Besides, it gives a message of optimism about life.

Ata muchos globos a su casa para volar y viajar a America del Sur. Pero descubre que Russell, un niño de 8 años, esttá viajando con él también. Al principio Carl está enfadado pero después...
Las críticas son muy buenas. La película es muy divertida con una mezcla de humor y sentimientos y tiene un buen ritmo. Además, nos da un mensaje optimista sobre la vida.
